Greetings!

Through this website, I extend my cordial invitation to come and visit Biliran province - to interact with our warm-hearted and free-spirited people and bear witness to the beautiful gifts of nature, landscapes where the Creator is the artist Himself.

Biliran Province is relatively young and the smallest among the six provinces of Eastern Visayas. Its island character offers serenity and peacefulness, with the distinction of having a zero insurgency rate. But it is far from being remote and isolated, with a busy seaport at the capital town of Naval, fully concreted highways linking the island province to its neighboring provinces and state-of-the-art communication facilities.

Socio-economic development in Biliran follows a steady pace, with great care and attention given to deter adverse effects on environment and people in the grassroots level. This careful awareness on environment enabled Biliran to win as the Cleanest and Greenest Province in Eastern Visayas for three consecutive years.

With only 555 hectares, its land area does not warrant large-scale industries. However, we are endowed with more than two dozens of waterfalls and cascades located deep within our lush mountains, and a number of white sand beaches and coves. By developing eco-tourism without exploiting the natural environs, we consider Biliran as one of the last ecological frontiers in this part of the country.
